Thundercats And Other 80’s Phenomena

Think back to your 80’s childhood and remember the things you used to play with and watch, I’ll bet plenty of them aren’t around today. Thinking about them probably brings back a feeling of nostalgia. The chances are you’re quite happy to see the back of some of them right??

Technically the first soda stream was invented in 1903 but it wasn’t till the 1980’s that everyone wanted to make their own fizzy pop. A SodaStream was the handy little machine that allowed you to make your own fizzy drinks at home. In reality by the time you’d gone to the effort of making the drinks and you’d brought the special syrup it would have been so much easier to just go down the shop but that really wasn’t the point.

Do you remember Lion-o, Tigra and the gang living on Third Earth and the evil Mummra?. If you know this is the plot to Thundercats you are definitely a child of the eighties, or at least a sci-fi fanatic. Thundercats was one of the most iconic cartoons of the 1980’s to hit your televisions and featured a lion, tiger, cheater, panther and two small cat like creatures. It saw them trying to protect the Eye of Thundera from the resident bad guy.

In the evening you can probably flick through hundreds of channels and still decide there’s nothing on. They play constantly all day and all night and we even have channels to specialise in different genres. Life wasn’t always this much fun though. Back in the days of just four channels most children would wake up to watch the little blond girl playing noughts and crosses with her stuffed clown. If you don’t remember this BBC test card you’re fortunate enough to only know what it’s like to have hundreds of channels. Back in the olden day’s television didn’t run 24 hours a day and many children would have spent many early mornings staring at this still waiting for their programmes to start.

Rock Valley wears Sioux County's work boots (desmoinesregister)

Need a job? Rock Valley has plenty. Orange City is Sioux County's charmer,
with quaint shopfronts, tulips, windmills and bright orange water towers. Rock
Valley is the workhorse, the town that wears work boots and blue-collar shirts
smeared with grease.
